There are two easy ways to replace the system logo with your own. The first is to simply replace the 'content/*theme*/images/logo.gif' with your own image and overwrite the original. The second way is to use the file upload option in the admin area.

If you have added your own image via the upload option, you can revert back to the default image by checking the 'Clear & Reset' button.

Optimal size for logo in default layout is 263 x 69 pixels.
